What Others Say About ...
Basile
The Plain Dealer (Cleveland):
"Basile is a combination of Jackie Gleason, Oliver Hardy and most of the cartoon characters you have seen. He is among the few comics who does not need material, because watching him is a scream. Basile, who has appeared on various HBO and ABC comedy venue, would have done just as well in silent films, or the old radio days, as now. Basile is a likable nut, not nasty. He always makes himself the foil, while changing his voice from articulate and measured to nearly broken down in tears as he explains his various life traumas. Basile should be in movies, or the center of a sitcom. He has a special comic presence and a real talent for creating a character." - Michael Drexler
Reel Carolina:
"Basile is a multi-talented and versatile entertainer. You'll just have to see his show to believe it. With precision-timing and diverse voice and character changes, Basile takes control of the audience and never relinquishes his grip until the finale." - Deb Daniel
Basile -- Unplugged and in Concert
Once you've seen this comedian's rough and tough opener, it's hard to believe that off-stage he's also the voice of Universal Studio's beloved "Bullwinkle J. Moose" and donates his t-shirt sale profits to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Critics call it the "funniest opening in the country" when he appears unplugged and in concert to sell-out crowds in comedy clubs and theatres across the U.S.
Basile is a former college football player and law school student turned comedian. He has been using improvisation and character work in his comedy for nearly a decade. His voices and characters can be heard on more than 450 syndicated radio stations in the U.S. and the world. During the O.J. trial, he was heard daily giving the "James Brown's O.J. Update."
While traveling, he does free performances at schools and children's hospitals wherever he headlines. Basile has also written for several sports shows and entertainment magazines, and has opened for musical groups such as Kool and the Gang, The Temptations, Chicago, The Spinners, The O'Jays, and The Beach Boys.
