There is something about a Finis Henderson (fy'
nis -- as in finest!) performance that makes him stand out from
every other musical impressionist. His obvious passion for
entertaining, combined with his elegant style and seemingly limitless
talent, make him one of the most successful performers on the casino
and corporate circuits today.
Being a part of Finis Henderson's audience is
equivalent to being invited to a reunion of some of the entertainment
industry's greatest legends and contemporary favorites. Gathering on
stage for an evening of music are Sinatra, Boyz II men, Presley,
Alan Jackson, Nat King Cole and daughter Natalie, Sammy Davis, Jr. and many
others.
As he weaves the comic personas of the Reverend
Jesse Jackson, Rodney Dangerfield and Mike Tyson through the crowd,
one is apt to forget they are not watching a crazed chorus, but the
versatile talent of one dynamic performer.
The sound is theirs. The voice is pure Finis
Henderson. As the evening draws to a close, it isn't a legend that
brings the audience to its feet, but the intensely melodic strains of
Mr. Henderson's own rendition of "Music of the Night."
It was only natural that Finis would go into show
business. His father was a successful song and dance man and one-time
Vice-President of Sammy Davis, Jr. Enterprises. Following the exposure to that
kind of talent and encouragement, he continued with formal training
at the Chicago School of the Arts and Columbia College. Afterwards, he
took his act to Los Angeles and polished it at the famed Comedy Store.
Since then, he has headlined at the Trump Taj Mahal
in Atlantic City, all of the major comedy venues and casinos and has
appeared with such superstars as Richard Pryor, Yakov
Smirnoff, Robert
Klein, Rodney Dangerfield, Jackie Mason, Smokey
Robinson, Barbara
Mandrell and Alan King to name a few.
This vocalist impressionist/comedian is doing it
all. In addition to live club, casino and corporate appearances, his television credits include "The
Jacksons' Mini-Series," "Bustin' Loose," "Crook and
Chase," "Nashville Now," "Crazy Horse Saloon,"
"Our Family Honor," "A Little Bit Strange" (an NBC
pilot), and "Comic Strip Live."
He has appeared in several U.S. films, including "Wired" and
"I'm Gonna Get You Sucka."
Finis Henderson delivers a clean, fun and
thoroughly entertaining show. The marvelous gift he has been given is
now his gift to us polished to perfection!
